The Mount Pleasant Police Department's Victim Services Program exists to provide a liaison to services for crime victims and family members with the goal of lessening the short and long-term emotional trauma experienced as a direct result of victimization.
The Victim Services program provides a police department liaison to assist crime victims in obtaining crisis counseling, crisis intervention, criminal justice support and advocacy, information and referral, notification of rights and assistance with filing Crime Victims Compensation claims, assistance with victim notification when the violent offender gets out of jail, assistance with property return, court accompaniment and shelter to victims of family violence reported to the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
